Many emerging analysis, tried to give a reasons for what is happening. Many scientists and geologists trying to explain to public about their analysis. Some say the disasters occurred because of a shift in earth’s plates. There is another saying that disasters occurred because of routine activities undertaken by the earth. But, there is not an analysis that all of this disasters occurred because we have started to leave God.
Allah Almighty has said:
”And remember! your Lord caused to be declared (publicly): “If ye are grateful, I will add more (favours) unto you; But if ye show ingratitude, truly My punishment is terrible indeed.”(Surah Ibrahim-7)
How many blessing we’ve got, but have we grateful? We need to ask ourselves, as far as what we are thankful to Allah. Have we obeyed all of Allah’s rules? Have we stay away from all of Allah’s ban?
See again how the condition of this Nation. Many violations occur in this country. Ranging from the small people, until the leader of government prefer to follow their desires, although that is violates the rule of Allah. Look at Surabaya-East Java, there are a largest localization in south-east Asia over there. Yes, ‘Gang Dolly’ is biggest place of prostitution, and you now what? That place is supported by a local government! Simple reason, they argue that ‘Gang Dolly’ is the largest financial contributor for the regional budget, and ‘Gang Dolly’ is a strategic place for foreign investment. Nastaghfirullah (we beg pardon of Allah), you can imagine what it would be a country that was built by haram money. This case is not only occur in Surabaya, but almost all over the city in this nation have a localization including Yogyakarta. Perhaps you’ve heard ‘pasar kembang’. Same with ‘Gang Dolly’, ‘pasar kembang’ is also a curse place. Why do I say so? Because adultery is one of the causes of the coming disasters.
Not only that the offences committed. In this Nation, mandate has been very underrated. Many officials who commit corruption. All of their promises when doing campaign nothing more than just nonsense. When they win and succeed to sit in the seat of government, they do nothing except just spending public money, make people more suffering, and disappointing many hope. Despotic leaders like this is not born solely because fate, but also because the participate of the society underneath them. As the word of Allah:
” Thus do we make the wrong-doers turn to each other, because of what they earn.”(Surah Al-An’am-129)
What is the solution if we want to escape from despotic leaders like thus? Fakhruddin ar-Razi in the interpretation of that ayat said, “If people want to be free from despotic leaders, they must leave the tyranny which they do.” What a simple solution! But it’s so really hard to be applied if we not know very well about what is the despotic act based on syari’ah Islam (Islamic law). If we can understand very well about the law of our religion, of course the love with our God will grown. If we love Allah, of course we’ll obeyed all of word of Allah, and we’ll not doing an bad thing that Allah hated it.
So, all of this disasters is caused by us. Because we began to forget Allah. Our love to Allah has begun decrease, make we forget that we only creature and only Allah who has everything. Allah want to warn us for back to Allah’s way. Don’t make an immoral acts that could provoke the wrath of God. Someone once asked Ibrahim bin Adham rahimahullah, “O imam, I want to repent and abandon sin. If I relapse again, please show me something that can keep me from sin, so I'm not opposed Allah again.” And then Ibrahim bin Adham instruct him, “If you want to make an immoral act, don’t do that in Allah’s earth.” The man said, “So, where I can do that?”, Ibrahim bin Adham said, “You must go out from Allah’s earth.” The man said, “How could I do that, whereas all of the earth belongs to Allah.” Ibrahim commanded again, “If you want to make an immoral act, don’t ever enjoy Allah’s livelihood.” He responded, “How can I life?”, Ibrahim replied,”You know that, so why you still doing immoral to Allah?” Ibrahim said again, “If you still insisted want to make an immoral acts, do it in place where Allah can’t see you.”, The man said, ”How could I can avoid from supervision of Allah, whereas I know that Allah always with us wherever we go.” Ibrahim responsed, “You know that, so why you still want to make an immoral acts when Allah is very close with us?” Ibrahim said again, ”If still insist to do immoral, when angle of death come to you to pull out your life, tell him; Don’t pull my life, let me repent before.”, The man shocked and asking, “Who would dare say like that?”, Ibrahim replied, “If you gutless to say that, why you still do immoral?” Ibrahim commanded again, “If you still and still insist to do immoral, when the angel Zabaniyah (angel who guard the hell) lead you to the hell, say tell him; I don’t want to follow you.”, the man said, “Who can do that?” And finally Ibrahim said at last, “After all what I say, do you still not shame to do Immoral?”
The above story show to us that basically we are not allowed to do immoral, because all of our life is just loan. Inappropriate for us to do some bad thing that Allah hate it. If we understand it, of course none of us dared to oppose Allah, and there would be no disasters. There are only the prosperity, welfare and peace that blanketed us because of our obedience to Allah.
So, leave immoral, back to Allah’s way, and be the best servant. Because Allah has given us a warning, don’t ignore it!
